Tactics Calculator

As you're creating your plan, NYCET's tactic calculator is meant to help you figure out the capacity required to reach voters based on a contact rate*. This means figuring out the number of voters you want to engage, the number of canvassers, and the number of shifts**.

*Contact Rate: The rate of conversations per number of attempted contacts. For example, if you made 10 phone calls and had 5 conversations, you would have a 50% contact rate. Contact rate is not a static number, it varies over time and by region and other variables.

**Canvass shift: Often times this is synonymous with a canvass event. For example, you may have a canvass event where everyone will be completing one two-hour shift of canvassing. Other organizations may have an all day event where there are multiple two-hour shifts scheduled throughout the day.
